A luxurious Home from Home

Unparalleled Luxury at Urban Lofts

Based in the historic town of Melksham, The Urban Lofts location is embedded in history to explore, not just the exposed beams and original brick and Bath stone walls. We are a family-run business and the owners Paul & Susan have connections not only to the town but to the building itself.

Where our fully renovated apartments now sit was once home to the Bush family and as we renovated the lofts we discovered many secrets hidden away. One great find was a boat hull hidden in the attic, this has been incorporated into the apartments making an intriguing feature. Other materials have been upcycled to make the high end rustic feel you see today.

The Market Tavern

The home of good food, good drinks and good friends

Part of the same building, the Market Tavern is connected to not only the Urban Lofts but our owners too. Susan’s ties to the property have been strong all her life. Her parents played together as children during the war. They eventually married and their wedding reception was held at the tavern too. They went on to found Jaffray Antiques, which is still running to this day and can be found right next door.

The property itself dates back to the 1700’s and has had many owners and lives. The whole property has been fully restored to welcome patrons and guests to the highest standards of service and accommodation. No stone was unturned in restoring the fireplaces, revelling the original timbers and bringing this historic building back to life.
